I raised my entire garage 4 feet to fit my new boat. I did not blow out the roof. I lifted the entire structure then set a 4 foot tall cripple wall underneath the original sill plate. Took about 10 days by myself to do the job. You have to lift about 1/2 per round, then reshim and loosen steel cables a bit by turnbuckles.
