Mesa Dual Rectifier Road King II Halfstack metal and shred

February 7th, 2010

My pal Ant demos his Road King II head through my Road King cab on my ESP EC-1000 and his Ibanez JEM in my garage for some fun, face-melting SHRED! For the curious: The signal chain is pure. An ESP LTD EC-1000 with EMG 81/60 set hooked up by a Mogami Gold lead direct into the Road King II, through a Road King cabinet (Celestion C90 speakers on the left side, Vintage 30s on the right). Output is dimed all the way with the channel masters low.

I agree! I’m not spending money on a amazing amp until I have skill first lol. If you have skill, it doesn’t matter what amp you use, you will sound amazing!

Bought a Mesa Single Rectifier with a Soldano 4×12 cab today, and it feels so good to have earned it myself!

It was a custom build in that finish.

Don’t worry man, true talent is forged through hardship. The more blood, sweat and tears you have to put into your gear, the less likely you will take it for granted, and the more time you will put into playing, and developing SKILL. Your yuppie cocksucker friend is doomed to be a mediocre player at best.

    Rock on.

I feel so bad for you :(
I have to work to buy mine too and I’d be straight up pissed if someone who could barely play was given one.

That’s what I told my 14 year old friend when he asked his mom for a Dual Rec for Christmas (he barely plays guitar enough to keep time on simple rhythms, let alone play well enough for a Mesa).

She ordered it today, and now I have to listen to my shitty player friend go on about his Mesa for months while I continue working at Subway to buy mine myself.

    *sigh*

Nice (LTD) guitar! I have a question about it. Is it possible to tune it in perfectly? ‘Cause I want one but just if it’s perfect. Thanx!
